Intergenerational Family Mediation for Social Workers

This course on intergenerational family mediation is designed to provide specialized training for social workers and other professionals who work with the elderly and their family caregivers. The course includes advanced training in mediation processes and consensus-building for families considering guardianship and alternatives such as continuous power of attorney and supported decision-making (SDM). The course also introduces mediation methods for families coping with a wide range of conflicts and issues associated with aging such as wills and inheritance, elderly treatment and care, medical and financial issues, planning for advanced age, strengthening family relationships, improving relations with caregivers and relevant institutions, dividing responsibilities of care, and more.
